Warren and I are co-conducting an SME seminar, focusing on the topic of business productivity tools. Warren is a seasoned webmaster, he has many years of a website designed and development experience, and therefore he would like to share how small businesses can benefit using the available online | website tools.

While for me, I just recently has been certified as an Evernote Certified Consultant. I have been an Evernote user for quite some time, and I have found it is very useful when coming to notes taking and updating documents and data.

Small Fish Business Youtube Channel 

Creating an online Youtube Channel is something I always wanted to do, but for whatever reason, this task has been keeping delaying. Maybe one of the reasons is I did not have a good enough background to show cast my materials, well all this has now be resolved with the help of Ace Dot My.

I like to express my sincere thanks to Alex Chew (Founder and CEO of Ace Dot My) and his team for allowing me to use their #SmartONE teaching board.

The SmartONE is really a piece of high-tech technology tool for presentation, where I could upload and showcase my materials in almost any formats (text, pdf, powerpoint, photo, music, video, web & etc). As you can see from the video, it made my sharing really easy and convenient, all I need to do is just point my finger on the screen and all the wonder and magic will just happen by itself.

Furthermore, I can also sync the screen directly from my laptop, tablet or smartphone with SmartONE, with just a click of a button. Making presentation and conducting meeting effortless.

With the help of my good friend Vaniss Lee (CEO of Lee Video Production) and her crew members, we shooted 6 videos sharing about the topics of the marketing idea, strategic, branding and sales. Each of the videos is going to upload on the Tuesday of every week for next 6 consecutive weeks. So if you like what you see, please do share with your friends and colleagues.

如果今天你踏进任何一家商店,不论是餐厅、美容院、服装店等,你都会期望得到某个程度的客户服务(Customer Service )。在现今的商业环境里,客户服务不再是一项奢侈品,而是一项需要。一家没有客户服务的商店,是一家没礼貌的企业,不论它的产品再好,没多久也会遭淘汰。

有鉴于此,现在的服务业是需要迈进“客户体验”(Customer Experience )的年代了。客户体验是整个“品牌体验”(Brand Experience )的一部分。试想一下,你想让你的客户对你的品牌有什么样的体验?

笔者最近在 De L Vida Studio 拍摄婚照时,就对此家公司的品牌与客户体验有着赞不绝口。有别于一般的婚纱店,De L Vida Studio 是家小型精品式婚纱摄影室。此家摄影室麻雀虽小,但五脏俱全。从我与太太首次接触该摄影室的配套、选择婚纱礼服、拍摄当天,再到照片完成品,他们的服务可说是让我们感到无微不至的。

就比如说拍摄前,摄影师兼老板Jeerie先只身到拍摄的外景场地勘察,预先实体勘察当地的环境与拍摄的角度与灵感,让拍摄当天可省却不少的时间。在此之前,我们也与Jerrie 沟通了许多想法与概念,他亦用心的记录及呈现我们所要的婚照。

最令笔者与太太难忘与惊喜的是,当我们完成外景摄影后,步入午餐时间时,Jerrie 带着我们与团队到一家韩国餐厅享受烤肉与泡菜等美食。可想而知,当我们完成烈日当空下的拍摄,又累又饿的情况下,来到有空调的上等韩国餐厅用餐是何等的满足啊!而且还是Jerrie 买单哦。有拍过婚照的朋友听闻后都直呼我们好幸福,因为他们只能吃打包回来的炒饭或鸡饭,抑或是馒头包点。

一个好的品牌与客户体验,可让客户很乐意的为你的品牌做个免费宣传,可别小看这种口碑相传的魔力哦!

许多国际知名品牌,在一开始时也只是默默无闻的小招牌。在经过无数心思的打造与耐心经营下,成为了家喻户晓的名牌。
 
“那我应该如何把我家的小招牌变成名牌呢?”有读者电邮问起。那我们就这个问题来探讨一下什么是品牌(Brand)。
 
我们商家是否需要花很多钱来把一个品牌给打响名堂呢?但大部分的中小企业都会面对资金上的局限,是不可能像大公司那般能够较自由的大笔花费在广告与宣传。在有限的资金上,我们是否也能够去打造属于我们的品牌呢?
 
如果时光倒退到20年或30年,即80年代或90年代,在有限的资金下打造自己的品牌,的确有点挑战;但在当今社交媒体及网络的发达下,这也不再是不可能的任务。相对下,在现时的环境打造品牌变得易如反掌。中小企业们已不需要大撒金钱聘请专业的品牌顾问公司或广告公司、找名人或艺人代言,或搞活动宣传。只要任何人都有部智能手机,再加上面子书帐号,这都能成为您的品牌代言人与宣传者。
 
打个比方,如果你是经营餐饮业的业者,今天你的顾客在你家店里用餐,而顾客对你的食品、服务等感到满意,那能不能要求顾客把你家的食品拍照后,放上面子书与朋友分享呢?如果他愿意为你这么做,那他是不是无形中成为你的最佳产品(品牌)代言人?而我们身边也有不少例子,很多顾客光顾某家餐厅,都会打卡告诉朋友他身在何处,更会拍下餐厅的美食,放上社交媒体与朋友分享。这就是为何我说,只要你有智能手机,社交媒体管道都会是你最佳的品牌代言人和宣传者。
 
由于打造品牌已从以前的“被动”,演变成今天的“主动”,品牌不再是您告诉(教育)您的客户您有什么,而是您的客户主动的宣扬及传达给其他潜在客户,你提供的是什么。如今的品牌已演变成一众体验,即品牌体验(Brand Experience)。什么是品牌体验?下一章告诉您我的亲身体验。

International Trainer I’m

It was indeed a breakthrough for myself, after started my own training firm since Jan 2012. I have finally made it to have a paid seminar aboard in Bali, Indonesia.

What is the definition of an International Trainer? – you have a seminar conducted outside Malaysia and get paid in USD. It was indeed a magnificent feeling when you have the change to conduct a seminar aboard and get paid in USD in cash…wonderful experiences.

The whole trip was actually in a hurry, I took the first flight from Penang to KL then boarded the next flight to Bali. After i arrived in Bali I went straight away check in into the hotel. Because the hotel i stayed was located in the city area, with this there is nothing much to be explored in the nearby areas. On the following day, i conducted a whole day workshop on Facebook Business Marketing. Have a great dinner time (Pork Barbecue) with Coach Leo in a famous barbecue outlet quite far away from the hotel i stayed. On the following day, since my flight back to KL is schedule in the evening, so with this I attended Coach Leo seminar on the topic of  Franchise. The workshop is conducted in Bahasa Indonesia, which i hardly understand a word Coach Leo was presenting, the only guide i have been the power point slides on-screen. Bahasa Indonesia and Bahasa Malaysia is kind like 2 different languages, even they do sound alike, but it is very different when you speak on it.

The program and modules i have developed for Facebook Business Marketing had in some point turn out to have a demand in the market. Not only Malaysian is getting serious on it, this time the Indonesian as well. After my 1 day seminar in Bali, Coach Leo (my Indo counterpart) also see the potential of social media marketing. Which he like the idea very much and seek for more future collaboration, where I’m indeed honour and happy about.

Mobile Marketing for Digital Profit Club

November 2011 is n exciting month. Many tasks for 2012 has been crafted and set within this month. I’m really looking forward to a new and wonderful 2012.

The topic I shared for Digital Profit Club on 9 Nov is soon going to be a hit in our region moving forward – “Mobile Marketing”.

Looking at the increasing usages of smart phone these days, needless to say the mobile’s industry is going to turn out huge for the market. So let take a look on how and why mobile marketing going to be explode in term of marketing.

Mobile has now become our second shadow; each of us will now carry a mobile phone basically everywhere we go. We just can’t live without a phone anymore. On top of that, mobile phone is a personalized item, just like our wallet and purse. We kept and stored our personal information on our phone like: our contact list (we named our friends the way we wanted to be), calendar, notes, pictures, songs and many others.

Being able to mobility market to phone owners is definitely a new niche’s way of marketing. You get to the target audiences directly and personally.  Below are the 6 majors’ matters of Mobile Marketing:

We discussed about the topic of LinkedIn on our DPC meeting today. LinkedIn is a social media platform which by far not too popular in our region. Many people may hear of LinkedIn or even owned an account with it; but not too many people are using it in the optimal benefits as we should.

LinkedIn is a social media platform specially cater for professional and business. Where the average age for is LinkedIn member is age 41 compare to Facebook of an average age of 28.

This platform is good to generate business enquiry. There are many disucssion Groups available in LinkedIn, where members can join and contribute their professional comments to the group and answering some questions of others. Indirectly generating leads and business opportunity among members of the same group and interest.

Top 6 suggestions to grow business on LinkedIn:

1. Professional Profile – only update your professional details, leave other personal contents on other platform like Facebook

2. Regular Share and Update

3. Comment on others’ update

4. Use LinkedIn Apps to enhance your profile

5. Join Group and interact appriorately

6. Share blog post with your group and friends

Digital Profit Club – Twitting for your Business

On yesterday DPC is all about Tweeting your business.

Twitter is a website, which offers a social networking and microblogging service, enabling its users to send and read messages called tweets. Tweets are text-based posts of up to 140 characters displayed on the user’s profile page.

Twitter comes in between email and blog, where user like to share their feeling, situation and the latest update of their life with friends & family. A simple example like: “I have nasi lemak for breakfast today”. You don’t send an email telling your friends what breakfast you have today, your friends don’t need to know that. But in the same time it is too little information to write a blog. Therefore Twitter come in place to share this kind of short message. Only the friends whom are following you and have interested in your life would see your posts.

Statistic shown that there are more posts posted in a day on Twitter than on Facebook.

Twitter is a great tool to be use for marketing in business, marketers can use mobile phone to tweet and update the latest marketing campaigns, products, events & etc. Where the public could also use the same matter to tweet and share information towards their circle of friends.
